Assistant Professor in Civil andEnvironmental Engineering


 



Water ResourcesEngineering Faculty Position:


TheSchool of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVE) at Oklahoma StateUniversity is pleased to invite applications for one (1) tenure-track facultyposition in the area of Water Resources Engineering. Successful candidates mustdemonstrate potential for developing a strong externally funded researchprogram. The School is especially interested in candidates that can collaboratestrategically with current expertise within the department, college, and state.Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of water resourcesengineering will be considered, including surface and groundwater hydrology,hydraulics, water resources management, and hydrological modeling. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with theUSDA Agricultural Research Service Hydraulic Engineering Research laboratorylocated 10 miles west of the OSU Stillwater Campus (https://www.ars.usda.gov/plains-area/stillwater-ok/hydraulic-engineering-research/). Thesuccessful candidate must have an academic background to teach undergraduatecourses in water resources engineering in the Civil and EnvironmentalEngineering curriculum, as well as offer new and/or existing graduate coursesin their area of expertise. A Ph.D. in, or closely related to, Civil andEnvironmental Engineering is required. It is expected that candidates canbecome licensed as a Professional Engineer within 6 years of appointment. 


OklahomaState University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, approximately 60 milesfrom both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The School currently has 17 faculty members,280 undergraduate students, and 50 graduate students. The School is aunique blend of teaching and research excellence. Research expenditures areapproximately $150,000 per faculty member. The OSU Civil Engineering program hasundergone a major expansion through the construction of new offices andclassrooms, as well as the new Endeavor Lab. The Endeavor Lab is a 72,000 sfinterdisciplinary undergraduate laboratory opened in the fall semester of 2018.



Qualifications:   
Ph.D. in a fieldclosely related to Civil and Environmental Engineering is required.
