Location: Lawrence, Kansas
Job DescriptionStudent office assistant duties include assisting faculty and staff, clerical and receptionist tasks; including, filing, data entry, copying, scanning, drafting and editing documents, answering phones and assisting visitors to the office. Other duties may include assisting with the departmental website, scheduling appointment, running on-campus errands and other duties as assigned. Office assistants normally work 10-15 hours per week.
Successful candidates will have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as being self-motivated, reliable, and able to work diligently.
This position requires a self-starter who can multi-task, think creatively, learn quickly, solve problems, see tasks through from beginning to end, and use of discretion in handling confidential information
Student hourly positions working for the AE department will have GPA reviews at the end of each semester. If the KU GPA drops below 3.0, the position can be terminated.Required Qualifications
