Job Description:

The Engineering Center of Excellence Sr. Director manges / executes all global engineering programs and projects for UPS Healthcare. He/she will be managing a department with multiple engineering disciplines and will have multiple directors and managers as part of his/her direct reports.

Scopes:
  • Leads a team tasked with helping define, govern, connect, improve and drive global consistency across all Healthcare distribution operations, through the development and deployment of global standards for our operational processes.
  • Oversees centralized coordination for appropriation of over hundreds of millions of annual capital expenditures and investment decisions. Supports the Capital Lifecycle Management (CLM) process through gathering requests, evaluating projects, and providing alternatives and recommendations.
  • Supports the deployment of global programs in joint collaboration with Information Technology, Quality Assurance and other cross functional teams.
  • Oversees validation of hardware, software, facility and equipment in compliance with CFR-Par 11 for Healthcare operations.
  • Oversees engineering design for new business accounts, inclusive of implementation of new technology and automation.
  • Provides engineering support to the UPS Healthcare Premier Product as well as the Managed Transportation service and operations with a goal to enhance visibility, document processes and optimize the purchased transportation product.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Possesses experience in people management and development.
  • Exhibits executive level communication skills across business units and functions to ensure clear communication, gain consensus and support.
  • Displays strong business and engineering acumen with understanding of business strategy.
  • Exhibits critical thinking/problem solving abilities and success in championing change.
  • Demonstrates success working in a complex organization across functions, cultures and level.
  • Critical thinker with ability to solve complex business problems and provide engineering solutions.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or internationally comparable degree) - Required
  • Master's degree in engineering (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
  • Experience in 3PL, distribution, supply chain industry - Required
  • Healthcare supply chain experience - Preferred
  • Experience in leading a global team - Preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from 11,230 monthly to 20,810 monthly. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
