Qualifications

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as a technical specialist, developing solutions and creating project designs and plans for all phases of projects within the areas of ITS and Traffic Engineering. This position works on a major project or multiple moderate projects with complex elements. This position will review junior staff's work and provide technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. This position will interact regularly with clients and key stakeholders ensuring effective communication and coordination across the project. This position may direct project teams and/or supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management. You will work to achieve our goals of a profitable operation and a supportive and inclusive work environment.

The ideal candidate has expertise in the following areas:

• ITS Planning & Design
• Lighting Analysis & Design
• Signal Timing & Design
• Signing & Pavement Marking Design

Minimum Qualifications:

• ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Transportation Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 10 years of ITS and Traffic Engineering experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience successfully delivering ITS and Traffic Engineering projects for FDOT, Central Florida Expressway Authority, and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, AGi32, and SKM.
• Experience leading a team of ITS and Traffic Engineers.
