Overview

IDC's Global Research Operations group is seeking an Operations and Transformation Intern who will be part of team that is responsible for improving internal research processes, creating solutions to elevate the research analyst working environment and satisfaction, and supporting all levels of IDC's global research organization.

Reporting to the General Manager and Group VP of Global Research Operations as well as the Vice President, Business Transformation, the Operations and Transformation Intern will work on a variety of projects with company-wide and global visibility in comprehensive, 10-week paid summer internship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operations within the context of the technology market research industry.

We are seeking an individual who is self-driven and enjoys working in an environment where collaboration is vital and working with data is a passion. The ideal candidate will be multi-talented in data analysis and have a deep satisfaction in solving for the required business tracking metrics and discovering data unknowns.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and maintain information from a variety of sources, such as databases, financial models and tools, and other internal systems.
  • Understand business processes and integration points of various internal IDC systems that serve as sources for raw data in analysis and methodologies.
  • Analyze various research processes for areas of improvement and optimization, which can be impactful to various financial metrics and making pertinent recommendations.
  • Assist with or lead the implementation of improvements to business processes.
  • Apply lessons learned and best practices to continually improve and update reporting and methodologies.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with all stakeholders to ensure everybody is aligned towards the same goal, as well as understand the data and methodologies used in delivering the analysis.



Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate students in analytical degrees such as Business Analytics.
  • Interest in process transformation and operational excellence.
  • Interest in gaining experience in the professional services industry.
  • Strong data analytical skills and a creative mindset to achieve the responsibilities associated with recommending, developing, and deploying methodologies and quantitative measures.
  • Excellent communication skills to present analysis, recommendations, methodologies, and conclusions to a varied audience in an understandable and nontechnical way.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interface with all levels of the organization on project goals and progress.
  • Ability to balance different projects successfully.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel with knowledge of and experience with Office 365 products and emerging features.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully across a global team.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. The expected compensation, depending on education level, is between $22-$25/hour for undergrads and $30-35/hour for graduate students.
