Summary/Objective: As a Software Engineer working within our Active Systems Hub (ASH) at Samtec, your primary responsibilities will be developing front-end and back-end software solutions. You will work in a cross-disciplined team primarily focused on developing turnkey systems for both internal teams and our premier customers. Your work will span a broad spectrum of domains, including production test automation, product demonstrators, evaluation platforms, IoT and edge systems. You will leverage a variety of modern technologies and tools such as Docker, micro-services, and data analytics.Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

1. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the assigned domain product portfolio and contributes to product features design, planning and development.
2. Collaborates with Tech Lead on implementation of technical designs developed using the architectural framework.
3. Works with assigned development team developing features utilizing best development practices and methods; provides code review, code guidance, and other technical assistance to ensure that implementation conforms to approved architectural design and department standards.
4. Support implementation of process enhancements and development standards defined by the Architecture Team.
5. Collaborate with other teams on projects to improve the overall software architecture, products and development process.
6. Works with Product Owners and the development team in estimating and planning initiatives, and other related software engineering practices.

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles or jobs.
2. Proficient in Python 3
3. Proficient with Git for version control and hosting service such as GitHub, BitBucket
4. Experienced with one or more of: JavaScript/Typescript, Rust, C++, C
5. Comfortable developing on/for *nix-based OS: Linux, MacOS, WSL2
6. Experience w/ querying databases: SQL, SQLite, MongoDB
7. Experience w/ CI/CD: BitBucket Pipelines, GitHub Workflows/Actions is preferred.
8. Experience interfacing w/ hardware: SBCs, microcontrollers, FPGAs is preferred.
9. Experience with AWS tools: S3, EC2, Redshift, Batch is preferred.
10. Experience with Containers (Docker) is preferred.
11. Experience with React is preferred.
12. Experience w/ low-level IC bus interfaces: I2C, SPI, MDIO.
13. Experience with instruments such as power supplies, scopes, sensors, cameras.
14. Understanding of networking.
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
16. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education:

1. Bachelor's Degree or beyond in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
