We are seeking a proactive and attentive Trade Compliance Analyst Skillbridge Participant who will be trained to provide support and analysis to our Global Trade Compliance organization. This includes working with our global locations to obtain import and export data to be used in analyzing risk, identifying cost savings opportunities and reporting trade data internally. The role will be exposed to a wide range of Trade Compliance data such as tariff classifications, country of origin, valuation, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) and Free Trade Agreements.



Responsibilities

This position will also help identify opportunities to improve/streamline trade compliance processes and assist management with priority trade compliance projects; Proactively seeks out and builds relationships with business/functional partners; Ensures that work is done following local procedures, Code of Conduct, IT security Policy and ITT’s values. Ensures that business/functional partners receive information they need for business success.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain post import/export data from ITT’s global locations and service providers
  • Analyze data using MS Excel
  • Validate trade compliance master data is accurate using US Customs Regulations
  • Research import/export regulations
  • Determine tariff classifications and country or origin
  • Assist users on basic software/hardware/peripheral operation
  • Perform audits of import/export documentation
  • Identify and escalate issues to Trade Compliance teams as appropriate
  • Investigates root causes to resolve problems.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to management
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills



Qualifications

Skills and Experience

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience preferred or 5 years equivalent experience.

OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of import/export regulatory experience.
  • Background in shipping and logistics.
  • Background in tariff classification, country of origin and ECCN determination.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented individual who can prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to balance rule driven processes with creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization & communication skills
  • Ability to create and follow procedures.
