As a Prefabrication Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication process of piping systems within our manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of skilled fabricators and ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects according to specifications and industry standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in piping fabrication, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:- Project Oversight: Coordinate and manage all aspects of piping fabrication projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management. - Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of fabricators, welders, and other personnel involved in the fabrication process. Provide guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure high performance and adherence to quality standards. - Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all fabricated piping systems meet design specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues promptly. - Safety Compliance: Prioritize and enforce safety protocols and regulations within the fabshop environment. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. - Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure materials, equipment, and services required for piping fabrication projects. Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to leadership to help in vendor selections. - Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of piping fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment. Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex fabrication issues and optimize processes for improved efficiency and quality. - Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including fabrication schedules, material usage, labor hours, and project costs. Generate reports as needed to communicate project status, performance metrics, and any deviations from planned objectives. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the fabshop operations. Implement best practices, procedures, and technologies to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or completed mechanical piping apprenticeship. (Preferred)- Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM, AWS).- Familiarity with fabrication software and tools (e.g., CAD/CAM, ERP systems) is a plus.- Certification in welding and/or fabrication techniques (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector) is desirable.- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Working Conditions: - The role is primarily based in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials.- Occasional travel may be required to visit project sites, vendors, or attend conferences/training sessions.
