Job Summary



Department Specific Responsibilities


  • Creates engaging and high-quality content for Indiana University Athletics¿ social media accounts.

  • Assists in managing Indiana University Athletics¿ social presence, including Instagram, X, and Facebook. Including

  • Contributes to brainstorming, planning, and content creation efforts.

  • Assists in hiring, training, and teaching interns.

  • Compiles social analytics for designated sports to aid in content strategy.

General Responsibilities


  • Reviews social media content for various communications needs, audiences, and platforms.

  • Posts approved content, monitors comments and feedback for trends, and reports issues to supervisor as needed.

  • Under supervision, reviews and corrects basic grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and syntax errors in draft social media posts; may respond to basic social media comments on behalf of the department.

  • May draft routine social media content to be reviewed and approved by supervisor.

  • May provide guidance to other Social Media Assistants.




Qualifications



EDUCATION



Required



  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE



Required



  • 2 years in relevant field

SKILLS

  • Proficient communication skills

  • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills

  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
