Transportation Modal Specialist

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Transportation Modal Specialist you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Working in conjunction with USAC Sourcing to qualify and onboard new suppliers, award suppliers through RFP's and ad hoc additions.


• Providing market intelligence to support Sourcing negotiations with suppliers on rates, payment terms and contract terms and conditions.


• Delivering cost reduction and service improvement in support of broader USAC Manufacturing & Supply Chain goals


• Initiating and leading value creation through optimization and efficiency projects.


• Conducting quarterly business reviews with major suppliers


• Providing Subject Matter Expertise to the development and roll out of new ERP load tendering solution.


• Willingness to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.


• Seven (7) years of Supply Chain Operations experience in a private, public, government or military environment.


• Five (5) years of experience in Logistics and multi-modal relationship leadership within a combination of transportation modes - Parcel, LTL, Expedited, Cartage, 3PL & Specialized services in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain


• Master’s degree in Business discipline preferred


• Strong analytical skills and financial acumen


• Excellent written & oral communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills


• Advanced Microsoft suite skills


• Business Transformation or SAP experience, specifically with the Transportation Module


• Logistics technology implementation experience preferred.

Work location: Remote

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: Not authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
