Job Description:

Steppingstone KC is currently seeking an enthusiastic Life Skills Coordinator to conduct verbal and/or hands-on individual and group life skills learning opportunities and activities with youth in the Steppingstone program. Topics include, but are not limited to money management, food management, personal appearance and hygiene, health, housekeeping, transportation and educational planning, job seeking skills, job maintenance, emergency and safety skills, knowledge of community resources, interpersonal social skills, legal issues, and housing.

The Life Skills Coordinator shall exhibit Trauma Sensitive & Positive Youth Development practices in interactions and approaches when working with youth.
The Steppingstone program helps runaway, homeless and at-risk youth work towards self-sufficiency by assisting them in the acquisition of independent living skills, which enhances their ability to live successfully in the community. A newly renovated facility on the Steppingstone campus is being dedicated for Life Skills learning and activities.
All candidates must have a strong desire to work with older youth, a clean driving record, the ability to pass a federal criminal background fingerprinting check, drug screen and be at least 21 years of age.
Requirements: Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university preferably in recreation therapy, psychology, social work, vocational rehabilitation or human services; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate ability to develop and implement programs that are outcome based.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid drivers license and insurable by agency automobile insurance. Obtain and successfully maintain current Medication Administration Certification, and First Aid/CPR certification.
