JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as Associate Director of the Office of Advocacy and Success (OAS). Provides care, advocacy, and support services to students in crisis and non-crisis situations. Coordinates training for staff and others on the CARE Network and OAS to support service delivery and follow-up. Assists with oversight of OAS staff and the daily functions of OAS programs and services. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - Advocacy: Provides non-clinical case management services to students in crisis and non-crisis situations, including academic, adjustment, behavioral, emotional, and personal wellness concerns. Implements appropriate follow-up for students referred to the CARE Network. Facilitates individualized meetings with students to discuss referral concerns and provide support and resources. Refers students to campus and community resources. Collaborates and consults with students, faculty, staff, and families. Advises students and families navigating university processes.

20% - Essential - Case Management: Maintains accurate and timely documentation. Assists with the triage and assignment of referrals to the CARE Network. Administers the CARE-related functions of the electronic recordkeeping system (e.g., Maxient). Facilitates case/file review to provide on-going consultation and collaboration and assess service delivery.

20% - Essential - Leadership: Assists the Director with the development and upkeep of policies and procedures aligned with the office's mission and vision. Provides leadership and manages the office in the Director's absence or as requested. Supervises and evaluates the work of other staff. Takes lead in assigned projects and initiatives. Serves as the Director's alternate for the university's Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).

15% - Essential - On-Call/Crisis Response: Assists with coordinating the response to critical student concerns (e.g., alcohol and drug overdose, hospitalization, suicidal ideation, harm to self/others, etc.). Serves in the Dean On-Call (DOC) rotation to provide after-hours crisis response for students in distress and hospital transports. Provides after-hours back-up support to staff serving in the DOC role. Provides follow-up care for DOC contacts and hospital transports. Coordinates training for staff serving in the DOC role. Serves as a representative for OAS to the Emergency Management Council (EMC) and core Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as needed.

10% - Essential - Training/Education/Collaboration: Coordinates initial and on-going training and development for CARE file managers that aligns with industry standards and best practices. Supports the office's outreach and education initiatives to increase the community's awareness and engagement with OAS and its programs and services. Participates in divisional and university committee meetings and serves on search committees and advisory boards as requested. Collaborates with campus partners across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other university divisions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree and professional experience in a human service or social service program.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree in Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or Counseling related field.
Work Experience - Professional experience working in non-clinical case management setting in higher education/student affairs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree in Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or Counseling related field.
Work Experience - Professional experience working in non-clinical case management setting in higher education/student affairs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

25% - Overnight Travel
