ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. As a Database Administrator at ARETUM, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the databases for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems, ensuring efficient and secure data storage and retrieval.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data, including user access controls, encryption, and data backups as per government policies.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries to ensure optimal speed and efficiency.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to protect against data loss or corruption.
• Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database structures to meet requirements and compliances.
• Follow data integrity and consistency standards, implement validation rules, and conduct regular data quality checks.
• Resolve database issues, such as connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
• Plan and execute database software upgrades, apply patches, and ensure the overall health of the database systems.
• Maintain documentation of database architectures, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration of databases with other systems.
• Monitor data growth and plan for database capacity expansion as needed.
• Ensure databases comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations as per government compliances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 10 + Years of experience in Database Administration role
• Must have MySQL developer & DBA skills.
• Must have experience with MySQL performance tuning.
• Strong analytical skills, and knowledge of database security practices.
• Experience with scripting languages and a solid understanding of system architecture.
• Ability to work with limited guidance in a remote team environment.
