Description

ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Technologist/SME (Bilingual) to join our team. As a Nutrition Technologist/SME at ARETUM, you will play a critical role in providing expertise and support in the field of nutrition to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform review of English and Spanish-translated resources and services for publications, web-based tools, and/or training materials: Review, edit, write, and complete tasks to finalize and receive clearance approval for FNS publications, training materials, web-based content, and resources for the FNS target audience (specifically, Program operators for the NSLP, SBP, CACFP, and SFSP and State agencies). Materials and tools will be reviewed for technical accuracy before release to the public via the USDA FNS Web site, or in print publications.
  • Create and finalize web-based announcements in English and in Spanish, (PartnerWeb, Twitter, and GovDelivery), power point presentations, memorandums, and other promotional resources related to Spanish technical assistance resources developed for the Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Evaluate incoming trainings for inclusion in the USDA Professional Standards Training Database.
  • Add approved trainings to the USDA Professional Standards Training Database and the USDA Professional Standards Training Tracker Tool.
  • Administer webinars (create registrations, host, upload slides, provide technical assistance, verify and maintain records of attendance, correspond with webinar attendees regarding participation certificates), in English and in Spanish, using WebEx platforms or the conference organizations preferred platform.
  • Develop nutrition education and training materials, in English and in Spanish, pertaining to the Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations, in English and in Spanish on nutrition-related topics
  • Develop electronic newsletters and promotions, for dissemination in GovDelivery
  • Reviewing webinar recording and finalizing webinar recording transcript
  • Provide technical support by conducting User Acceptance Testing of Child Nutrition digital and web-based technical assistance resources.
  • Evaluation of incoming Training Materials for Inclusion in the Professional Standards Training Database.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of Child Nutrition online resources

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, public health, health education, or a related field required.
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Subject Matter Expert – Nutritionist who is fluent (speaking, reading and writing) in English and Spanish, with Spanish as the native language.
  • Professional certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is Preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with FNS’ Child Nutrition Programs (in particular, National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program) with understanding of stakeholders’ perspective.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Excel)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with nutrition communications, to include writing for audiences with varying literacy skills, and understanding of 508 compliances.
  • Strong proficiency related to oral communication and interpersonal skills (i.e., expressing information to individuals or groups effectively, assessing target audience communication needs, applying strong listening skills).
  • Experience working in the Federal Government Environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and should be detail oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
