Opportunity:

TAYS is seeking a CICS Systems Programmer to join our dynamic team! This role will provide systems programming support to install, administer, customize, and troubleshoot the CICS architecture by developing, modifying, and installing systems software programs and application software within a federal agency. Come join our high-performing tech team in Baltimore, MD. The role is currently remote.

*This is a permanent, W2 position and will consist of a hybrid schedule. The CICS Sytems Programmer must be local to the DMV area.*

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Design, Develop, Test, maintain, document, and deploy systems level and application software features and changes.
    1. Analyze high-level requirements and produce detailed design documents and flow charts.
    2. Provide a project plan and schedule for software development and maintenance efforts.
    3. Perform life cycle management.
  • Create New or Modify Existing CICS Architectures
  • Provide problem resolutions that include the diagnosis and root cause analysis of application software problems, configuration, or software-related problems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Total 8+ years of experience using/working with a combination of the following: SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, Z/OS, CICS, OMEGAMON, Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEPS), JCL, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), INTERTEST, HOT TERMINAL, CICSPLEX, RMF/SMF, ABENDAID, JES2/3, COBOL.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive CICS systems configuration and maintenance experience.
  • Experience with CICS support and troubleshooting
  • Experience configuring and maintaining third-party software support.
  • Experience with analysis, testing, and implementing software.
  • Develop and maintain CICS systems level and application software programs and exits using Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Assembler Language Code (ALC) or Java.
  • Perform life cycle management and coordination of software changes across SDLC.

Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to managing and developing requirements with analysts, management, and end-users.
  • Proven ability to produce detailed design documents and flow charts.
  • Ability to develop project and test plans and schedules.
  • Active Public Trust clearance.

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree and 8+ years of combined experience in related fields.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
