Directs the development of an international infrastructure for the establishment of ties to academic programs for international students and management of memoranda of understanding with international institutions and appropriate governmental bodies. Centralizes international functions into International Programs office, enhancing academic program development, recruitment, and delivery in new markets.
Negotiates international proposals and contracts to develop and implement general cooperation agreement among universities, management of transfer agreement between international institutions and the university, external degree programs, professional development, faculty exchange, and international opportunities for faculty and staff.
Manages international ties across the public, private, and academic sectors with specific connectivity to the university.
Oversees and implements plans for integrating all services for international students into a centralized operation under the direction of the Provost.
Directs international outreach and student recruitment in collaboration with the academic colleges; partner universities; and university faculty, staff, and relevant campus units.
Develops and executes annual international recruitment plan, coordinating efforts with colleges to meet desired international enrollment targets.
Oversees international admissions, advising, SEVIS issues, I-20 certification, marketing for student recruitment, and other relevant operations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Remains responsible for transition needs of international students and adjustments to new academic and cultural systems.
Coordinates the design and implementation of training and development programs for international faculty, students, and oversees business executives when working with international students and for study abroad and international recruitment events.
Promotes, supports, and coordinates faculty-led international study abroad programs, UH System International Consortium opportunities, and through other direct exchange programs and sponsored programs.
Facilitates and coordinates exchange of international faculty, staff, and students through exchange and sponsored programs.
Coordinates and supports faculty and students for prestigious fellow and scholarships programs, including the Fulbright.
Provides review for international admissions, marketing, and recruitment materials in different mediums in accordance with established guidelines and parameters.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; and develops personal growth opportunities.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
