This position is located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations. Trains undergraduates and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates project development in collaboration with other specialists.
• Conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation, including planning, organizing, conducting experiments, assessing protocol feasibility, processing and analyzing data, and conference presentations.
• Prepares manuscripts, research proposals, articles, grant applications, work for publications, and presentations based on research results.
• Trains undergraduates and/or research technicians.
• Recommends, drafts, and manages laboratory policies and procedures.
• Facilitates work and project development in collaboration with other industry and academic specialists.
• Position requires someone with expertise in coagulation/hemostasis to collaborate on conceptual project design and implement novel assays, to maintain and troubleshoot specialized instruments, to perform advanced data analysis and verify methodology, and to lead specific parts of research projects.
Light – medium. May require lifting small boxes and rolling equipment on wheeled carts.
