Position Summary The Outreach Coordinator will be primarily responsible for initiating and coordinating strategic activities of the Cybersecurity and Cyber Defense Center (CCD) and Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (OCCoE) with various partners across the State.

Responsibilities will include arranging conferences, supporting Advisory Council’s meeting logistics, and managing strategic projects. The coordinator will maintain high levels of communication with the OCCoE and CCD staff and external partners. Specific initiatives include:
  • Work with the Center’s Director, Associate Directors, and staff to advance programs and projects; Develop an initiative around equity/diversity outreach with Center personnel and external partners;
  • Provide strong communication skills to articulate the goals and strategies of the Center to external partners.

This position starts at at .5 (20 hours/week). The coordinator may expand on project management and administrative roles with additional FTE as funded by external grants and contracts.
Minimum Qualifications To qualify, applicants should specifically address and demonstrate in their cover letter and résumé how their education, training, and/or experience meet each of the following minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience,
  • Experience developing communications such as online content, fact sheets, presentations, newsletters, graphics, and press releases or media responses for both broad and targeted audiences,
  • Experience with communities of color, people with disabilities, and others who have been traditionally underrepresented in local decision-making and experience developing culturally relevant communications or outreach materials and strategies
  • Ability to plan and implement communications, outreach, engagement, planning and organizing meetings, or similar strategies.
  • Knowledge of social media, online marketing, and non-traditional outreach methods

Work Days/Hours Monday to Friday, between 20 and 40 hours
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $54,684 and $61,152 (at .5 FTE $27,342 to $30,576) but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
