Overview

High Voltage Training program opportunity. This is a very physical positon that requires 24/7 dedicaton & response to after hours calls within 2 hrs. of notification 7 days/365 yearly. This is a 4-year apprentice style program which at the end of 4 years completed program, persons pay scale will match the Local 68 / FAA CBA High Volt lineman rate. Below are the basic job duties along with any additonal duties assigned by Supervisor or Management. In additon, there will be mandatory training, certications and specific licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and repairing Overhead Distribution and Power Transmission lines.
• Installing and maintaining transformers and other equipment.
• Stringing new wire and/or maintaining existing wiring.
• Work with Lineman and other helpers installing and maintaining insulators and associated pole line hardware.
• Initiating projects
• Participating in OSHA and Customer Safety Requirements.
• Assist in the setting of towers, poles and construction of other devices.
• Electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
• Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining an Underground Distribuiton System.
• Participate in the assembly and erection of substations.
• Install, maintain and repair street lighting.
• Drive and operate aerial bucket truck, 60ft or more.
• Able to work outdoors in ALL types of weather conditions.
• Must learn skills / tools through on the job training and related classroom instruction.
• Conned space and manhole entry training.
• Learn to operate the digger truck in setting poles and pad mounted transformers.
• Basic computer skills
• Must follow and participate in all Safety meetings and PPE guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned or requested

• Electrical skills and principles
• Lineman skills and equipment knowledge
• Electrical power distribution
• First Aid and CPR
• Pole top and bucket rescue
• Digger truck operations
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Arc Flash training
• SCADA System training (onsite)
