About the Position: Adams & Martin is seeking a dedicated and diligent Part-Time Attorney / Legal Counsel to provide legal support for a respected nonprofit organization. This remote role requires approximately 10 hours of commitment each week and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the USA. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for nonprofit work and the ability to handle a variety of legal tasks with precision and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and support on various low-risk, non-complex matters related to the nonprofit's operations.
Draft, review, and advise on legal documents such as cease and desist letters, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other contractual documents.
Assist with labor and employment issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Handle some intellectual property (IP) related tasks, protecting the organization's interests.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure legal best practices are followed.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in any State Bar in good standing is required.
A minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, preferably serving as in-house counsel to a nonprofit organization.
Proficient in handling general corporate governance, compliance issues, and risk management.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
