We have an immediate full-time opening for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of functions in the accounting department. Specifically, this role is the department lead for Accounts Receivable, customer management, posting cash and General Ledger maintenance and reconciliation. In addition, this position assists the Controller in the month end closing process, assists with audit preparation, and is the back-up for other Accounting functions. This role is perfect for the person who is highly motivated, diligent, and organized.

What will you do?

On any given day, your responsibilities would include:

• Managing the full cycle AR process for Waterbury location in accordance with related policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate collections from customers
• Performing customer maintenance, including new client setup
• Receiving and verifying credit applications for appropriate approval
• Entering payments into the ERP system
• Reconciling the Accounts Receivable aging to the General Ledger
• Performing month end close for Accounts Receivable

What we are looking for:

• Associate degree in accounting; bachelor's preferred
• Experience in Accounts Receivable
• Knowledge of the Accounts Receivable process
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel (including Pivot tables)
• Manufacturing MRP experience (Navision experience is a plus)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• High organization, time-management and prioritization skills
