The University of Chicago's Department of Pathology is searching for a Clinical Associate at 100% effort for a renewable term of up to two-years. The appointee will be based on the University of Chicago's Hyde Park campus and will have clinical responsibilities in clinical pathology, as well as the CLIA Medical Director for several offsite locations in Indiana. CLIA medical director duties include all those duties defined by CLIA including oversite of the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, as well as ensuring the following: personnel competency, appropriate equipment, laboratory safety, up to date laboratory policies, quality assurance, accurate testing (including proficiency testing), and test reports. The position reports to the Vice Chair for Clinical Pathology. The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible to hold a medical license in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, 3) have board certification in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or Clinical Pathology (with or without an additional subspecialty) through the American Board of Pathology, and 4) have the ability to carry and maintain CLIA licensure.
