What Youll Do

Samsungs Cedar Rapids Location Group was established in October 2012 to develop market-leading location technology for mobile applications. US team driving our technology forward for future generation products. Our main activities include architecture definition, silicon design, software development, and platform integration. The Location Group is now part of Samsungs Application Processor and Modem Group. We work closely together to develop highly integrated products, and to find opportunities to optimize our products for market success. The group is looking for an experienced Staff Engineer, GNSS Dev Ops Engineering.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our Cedar Rapids, IA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

• Work closely with the head of the Dev ops group to evolve the current processes in place for Samsungs Location group.
• Develop and support various tools and infrastructure to highest efficiency of the development teams.
• Research and integrate cutting edge development practices.
• Potential travel to support customers or collaborates with team members, domestic and international (< 5%).

What You Bring

• Bachelors with 10+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, SW Engineering or relevant disciplines preferred.
• Expertise in Python, ability to code C.
• Expertise in the development & deployment of automation tools.
• Experience debugging and building automation on Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience and proven knowledge of GitLab/GitHub/Gerrit or any other project hosting solution.
• Experience with REST Web Services.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira workflows and reporting.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Proficiency in using Jenkins.
• Analysis of complex software to determine anomalies and potential areas of improvement.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Able to work with minimal supervision while working in a team atmosphere.
• Fast learning, hard-working, and self-driven.

Base Pay Range$127,955—$198,045 USD
