Job Summary

The APEX Government Marketing Specialists are responsible for:

• Consulting with clients on various types of contracting vehicles utilized in the procurement process on the Federal, state, and local levels of government.


• Directing and providing technical assistance to clients in completing proposals for contract solicitations.


• Educating clients on the various Federal and state government small business socio-economic program certification criteria, and provide guidance with application processes, including, but not limited to, the SBA 8(a) program, Women-Owned Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone, and DOT DBE certifications.


• Working independently and collaboratively with a small group of specialists to assist program clientele.


• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or a related field.


• At least one-year experience providing guidance and educational training to small/medium sized business owners and managers.


• Experience working with diverse and underserved populations


• Experience communicating technical processes to diverse populations both orally and in writing


• Ability to listen critically to identify needs and solve problems


• Strong organizational and time management skills


• Proficient digital technology skills and ability to use the CRM to enter data and generate reports, experience operating video-conferencing equipment and software used for virtual presentations.


• Must be familiar with the basic aspects of technical assistance required to be successful in government marketing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with small business operations, working within a business which sells to the government, or experience within a government agency as a contracting officer.


• Certified training in the government contracting procurement field


• Knowledge of CMMC regulations and requirements.


• Experience leading government marketing workshops and providing formal presentations to small business and external constituents within the service area.


• Prior leadership experience within a unionized organization.

The starting salary range for this position is $56,704.00, per the SCUPA CBA.
