We are currently recruiting for a leadership-driven and self-motivated Geotechnical / Materials Laboratory Supervisor based out of our Hollister office.

The Geotechnical / Materials Laboratory Supervisor position requires establishing, managing, maintaining, and supervising all equipment, materials, and activities related to the laboratory and laboratory testing; developing/strengthening client and project manager relationships, with a focus on delivering error-free materials testing services; support project managers scope of work development, estimating, and proposal preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory work.
• Performing laboratory tests.
• Ensure that the technical activities of the subgroup are performed adequately.
• Train personnel
• Interpreting test data and preparing reports and summaries.
• Calibrating and maintaining lab equipment.
• Maintaining laboratory certifications and accreditations and coordinating with certifying and accrediting organizations.
• Managing, developing, and mentoring laboratory technicians.
• Keeping the laboratory organized and in compliance with QA/QC initiatives.
• Development of construction quality control programs and implementation.
• Profit and loss responsibility.

Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Personnel management and laboratory management experience
• Strong business development interest and competency
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Fundamental experience working with MS Office 365, including Excel, Word and Sharepoint

Education and Licensure

• Bachelors degree preferred
• PE registration preferred

The expected pay range for this position is $30-45/hour. Exact rate is dependent on several factors such as experience, qualifications, education/licensures, and geographic location.
