Overview

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer II for our Park City, UT Location. This person will demonstrate the ability to execute successful product development programs for new or modified products on schedule and within budget from concept design through production transition. Additionally, this person will focus on the development of new solutions implementing metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) for part fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily activities of the technical team in the design and development of new products.
  • Review/monitor schedule and budget commitments relative to assigned projects and communicate risks to management.
  • Work with customers, suppliers, and internal audiences to qualify AM materials for aerospace applications and substantiate new part designs for flight qualification.
  • Ensure new product development procedures are adhered to and that recommendations for continuous improvement relative to lessons learned are communicated and incorporated into revised procedures.
  • Multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive projects to successfully meet key milestones.
  • Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Identify process and product improvements (new products and legacy products) and implement changes.
  • Manage and assist with timely preparation of engineering documentation to substantiate product design and compliance to specifications, including but not limited to Analysis Reports, Failure Investigations Reports, Project Plans, Test Plans, Project deliverable documents and Engineering Changes.
  • Communicate with customers on technical and project management related topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in an aerospace, mechanical or industrial engineering setting. Experience in an aerospace gear system, transmission, or actuation related industry preferred.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication in a cross functional team is critical. Includes being able to maintain flexibility to take on tasks outside their direct responsibility.
  • Experience working in and leading product development teams, creating project plans, performing risk assessments, and working resource plans necessary for successful program execution.
  • Familiarity with metal AM production processes and industry guidance for the application of AM technologies.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with mechanical system design, integration, and development.
  • Broad technical knowledge of aircraft systems and awareness of current aircraft developments and technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.
