RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Data Governance for a highly regarded financial services firm in Boston, MA. Join an elite team in a critical function at the heart of investment technologies. Work will focus on data governance and data quality. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with stakeholders across the firm, and will own current and future state of data governance frameworks - that include data catalogs, data lineage, and data quality as the core pillars.




REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, or data management

  • Solid technical abilities to perform the hands-on aspects of data engineering along with excellent management and communication skills

  • Strong command of SQL and/or Python

  • Solid understanding of Data Governance principles, practices, and key tools - Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Data Quality frameworks

  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills

  • Deadline-driven mindset; Takes ownership and pride in end-to-end delivery of projects and initiatives

  • Strong process discipline: ability to design new processes & drive continuous improvement in existing ones

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills

  • Proven experience collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders/internal customers

  • Prior experience in Finance domain and especially asset management fund accounting with exposure to bonds, bank loans, equities, etc.

  • Prior tech lead or management experience

  • Prior experience with Snowflake and DBT

  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and datasets.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS and familiarity with services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, Athena, EC2, Lambda, and Glue

  • Prior experience with Data governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, Alation, Manta, etc. is highly desired

  • Experience standing up or maintaining data governance program at similar firm is highly desirable






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
