The Associate Director of Packaging will play a pivotal role in leading our packaging team to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality packaging solutions. This individual will oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of packaging strategies, while also managing a team of packaging professionals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of packaging materials and technologies, and a proven track record of driving innovation and excellence in packaging design and execution.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in packaging development, with 10 years in a leadership or managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and processes, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
Strong portfolio and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional technical teams to meet deadlines and stay on budget.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve results and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems, such as CAD software, packaging design software, and ERP systems.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to packaging, including FDA, ISO, and ASTM standards
What will be your key responsibilities?
Lead and manage the Global packaging team focused on packaging sustainability, including setting goals, objectives, and priorities, and providing guidance and support to team members.
Develop and implement packaging strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, procurement, and supply chain operations, to ensure packaging solutions meet product specifications, branding guidelines, and market demands.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, utilizing industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor packaging performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting packaging, and proactively recommend strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
Build and maintain an external network within the packaging industry, with the ability to influence and drive coalitions of technical leaders in packaging sustainability.
Lead and manage a packaging development strategy across multiple life cycles, connecting with Sensory and consumer insights to help address and transform latent consumer needs into delighters.
