Responsibilities of a Lead Housekeeper require physical demands; ability to stand for long periods, bending and stooping, and lifting.
Performs the 8-step cleaning procedures, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
Completes work from previous shift if needed, reports all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
Cleans up all organic body waste, i.e. blood and body fluids, feces, sputum, etc. as instructed by the supervisor or team leader.
Hang cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
Up on discharge cleaning, disinfect and/or sanitize I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment.
Ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry.
Performs the following floor and carpet care techniques: carpet bonneting and extracting, spray buffing, burnishing, scrubbing & recoat, stripping, and refinishing.
Inspects equipment daily to maintain it in clean condition and in good repair.
Assumes responsibility for the quality standard in his/her area.
Participates in departmental training activities and meetings.

Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer services as well as floor and carpet care
Must have the ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
Previous lead experience preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, and understand basic medical terminology
Ability to follow standard procedures using his/her discretion and be able to understand the needs of patients and react appropriately
Be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
