Job Description Summary

The Valet / Bell Attendant sets the tone for Sonesta's mission of "Wowing" our guests with Amazing Moments. The role's primary responsibility is to assist arriving and departing guests in transporting luggage to and from guest rooms and parking vehicles. The Bell Attendant must respond to guests' requests in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and going beyond for our guests.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:


  • Welcome and acknowledge all arriving guests in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Transport luggage to and from guest rooms.

  • Safely drive, park, retrieve and move a variety of motor vehicles.

  • Secure, tag and store luggage at guest's request.

  • Direct guests to appropriate hotel staff for assistance with questions and special requests regarding food, laundry, concierge services, or housekeeping.

  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Inform supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or dissatisfied guests.

  • Promote hotel facilities, outlets, and services to guests and provide information to guests regarding local attractions and activities.

  • Treat requests with professionalism, tact, and a courteous manner.

  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.

  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid US Driver License and driving history that shows history of safe conduct.

  • Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

  • Frequently standing up for extended periods.

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds

  • Handling objects, products and computer equipment

  • Use a keyboard to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.

  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.

  • Basic math and simple accounting skills are used frequently.

  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used.

  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
