We are seeking a full-time Compensation Specialist 3 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as the subject matter expert in the execution of compensation activities including merit and promotion cycles, incentive award processes, compensation foundational element maintenance, and provides information, advice and counsel to Human Resources and leadership on compensation issues, opportunities and questions.
Essential Functions
Support global CMR (Common Merit Review) and CPR (Career Path Review) processes with accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness
Manage end to end incentive award process
Conduct job evaluation, survey submission and market analysis to ensure competitive compensation and analyze and recommend starting rates
Analyze salary ranges to adjust for market competitiveness and internal equity
Establish merit and RSU budget and annual range adjustment recommendations
Conduct manager compensation training and work with leaders to make compensation decisions consistent with policies and philosophies
Raise emerging trends, developments, and new practices for consideration by Garmin
Provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult/technical problems using sound problem solving techniques and applies good judgment in setting schedules/risk taking
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience OR a Master's Degree in one of the fields noted above AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of organizational business units
Experience with annual merit cycles, compensation survey activities and job matching to market surveys and grades
Proven reputation as an approachable and effective HR professional serving associates and the organization
Demonstrates leadership presence while securing management support, is political savvy and has the ability to influence decision making
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of measurement concepts, data collection, and analysis of compensation data
Demonstrates understanding of HR related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technology
Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience
Demonstrates the capacity to mentor or train others
Must be positive, detail and quality oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision making
Strong analytical skills and power user of Excel
Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Knowledge and/or experience with Oracle HR Management systems and compensation management systems
