What you will do

Under general supervision, maintain the environmental, health and safety of the plant workforce by monitoring and evaluating environmental, health and safety conditions; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and governmental standards; and maintenance of the environmental health, industrial hygiene and safety Programs for the facility. This is located at our Geneva, IL facility and is an onsite schedule.

How you will do it

• Motivate and train line supervision and production personnel in good housekeeping/5S practices, safe work procedures, PPE, etc.


• Use testing equipment to sample, measure and evaluate employee exposures to in-plant chemical contaminants, including lead and physical agents such as heat and noise exposure.


• Oversee the monitoring and recordkeeping of the performance of the plant exhaust and make-up air ventilation systems and provide analysis to guide process improvement.


• Administer applicable respiratory protection requirements that include fit testing and respirator distribution when applicable.


• Maintain current awareness of applicable federal, state and local environmental, health, industrial hygiene and safety regulations.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelors degree and 1 year suggested minimum experience, or 2 year degree and 6 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

• Previous experience with environmental, safety and/or industrial health programs in a manufacturing environment preferred

Geneva, Illinois is home to a fully integrated plant that manufactures batteries used in the automotive and marine industries. As a fully integrated plant, we also decorate our batteries into the final product for our customers.
