Maintains all tooling and tooling related machinery in a ready to run condition through proper maintenance schedules and repairs all tooling issues as required by production.

Main Responsibilities

• Skills to include using all tool room related equipment to make repairs as necessary (lathe, mill, surface


• grinder)


• Skills to include welding for flash repair (TIG and/or Laser)


• Skill to include advanced benching skills (polishing/texture repair/spotting/fitting of precision


• components)


• Skills to include repairing all hot runner manifold related issues (heaters and T/C replacement, cleaning


• melt flow channels, replacing tips, etc.)


• Skills to include hydraulic cylinder repairs / rebuilding


• Skills to include repairing water line leaks (manifolds/fittings/pipes/NPT threads/etc)


• Skills to include electrical wiring (ejector/core switches, hot runner controller cables, etc.)


• Troubleshoot and repair tooling in production (press calls)


• Supports plant and tooling department 5S initiatives


• Documentation using company INFOR system


• Acquire tools as related to job tasks (see Tool Set matrix


• Assist in any other mold related activities within the tooling department


• Must be able to work in a team environment

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Journeyman's Certificate or equivalent (576 Class room hours of related instruction and 8,000 OJT hrs)

Work Experience

5 years experience in a tooling related field, preferably in building molds or in an injection molding facility 

Physical Requirements

• Walking, stooping, kneeling and standing required for long periods of time


• Must be able to repeatedly push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
