Arden Park Post-Acute is looking for an Admissions Coordinator/Assistant to join our team!
Schedule : Tuesday-Saturday, Full Time (limited term with the potential of a permanent role within the company).
Purpose: Coordinate the admission of residents to the facility in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide tours to prospective patients, family members, and other responsible parties
Coordinate the admission of residents to the facility by communicating with other departments, external organizations, agencies, and healthcare facilities
Develop and maintain business relationships with discharge planners, case managers, and physicians to generate placement referrals
Complete the admission packet with the resident and/or responsible party and assists residents in determining how they would like to make decisions about their health care and whether they would like anyone else involved in decisions
Assist in the orientation program for residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures
Help in maintaining and building overall census
Process, open and screen patient referrals in a timely manner
Communication with building and nursing leadership regarding patient referrals
Record information in computer system
Requirements and Qualifications :
Minimum one year prior medical facility Admissions experience (SNF preferred)
Exceptional communication and customer service skills, and empathy
Proficient knowledge of computers and related equipment/software
Strong knowledge of health insurance systems
Ability to self-motivate and a willingness to help where needed
Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language, including ability to interpret scientific and technical information common to medical billing.
Experience with medical terminology, medical billing, and data entry preferred
Bilingual communication skills a plus
Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Physical Capacities: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Possible bending, squatting, twisting and reaching
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Environmental Conditions: Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure and minimal potential exposure to blood-born pathogens.
