Job Purpose

The US FSSC consists of a professional staff whose objective is to provide the US business units with specialized services including accounts payable, travel expenses, cash application, asset and freight management, general ledger, financial reporting and SOX / governance controls. The duties of the Accountant II includes a broad range of accounting functions including processing and confirming intercompany transactions and balances, preparation and processing of journal entries, completion of account reconciliations, and maintenance of all headquarter reporting units while ensuring compliance with SOX controls and company policies. The Accountant II reports to the Accounting Manager and assists with the preparation and review of all financial reporting, including weekly reports, monthly and annual closing preparation, forecasting and annual operating plan preparation for the FSSC team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial close activities including update and maintenance of the General Ledger, analysis of account variances and reporting of results to management.
  • Coordinate and maintain monthly accruals and standard journal entries.
  • Perform monthly analysis of general ledger account variances and reconcile changes.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including departmental expenses, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger accrued accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting packages, taking advantage of opportunities to enhance usefulness and efficiency.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Maintain General Ledger.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period.
  • Distribute monthly reports to appropriate businesses and functions.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation for Balance Sheet accounts, including documentation to support account balances.
  • Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
  • Ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and compliance.
  • Performs account analysis support for the Accounting Manager & FSSC team.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting with 3-5+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of inventory and cost accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange and currency conversions is beneficial in this position.
  • Technical Skills: MS Excel; macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas. SAP, HFM, and Blackline

Education

Bachelors Degree in Business administration or Relevant industry
