Role: Managing Director, Business Advisory Services, Austin




This is a hybrid role (not eligible for 100% remote) and employees must live within a commutable distance to the Austin office.



This role offers a unique opportunity to own the growth of the practice, which will include recalibration of core capabilities with current talent, pipeline (supply/demand), and global strategy. As the leader of the Business Advisory Services leadership team, you will also be accountable for all practice-related activities including business development, client relationship management, sales, recruiting, account management, project oversight and practice operations.

What You'll Do



• Accountable for P&L, establishing go to market strategies, driving sales, recruiting, account management, consulting, and operational aspects.


• Sets and leads overall strategic direction from both a client and practice level.


• Partner with General Manager, Global Teams, experts in local markets, and technology partners to create unified business advisory offerings and go-to-market strategies.


• Contribute to client delivery by managing project delivery quality assurance, engagement risk, and project economics.


• Contribute to team development through coaching/mentoring, and by supporting recruiting activities and onboarding.


• Responsible for the profitability of all Business Advisory Services (BAS) business within the Austin market (revenue and utilization goals), with revenue expectations of $20+ million per year.


• Identify opportunities for growth and maturation of Business Advisory Services offerings.


• Drive business development with the proper information, tools, and subject matter expertise to sell engagements.


• Provide oversight and governance of sold projects.


• Part of the local market senior leadership team providing management of overall market operations.


• Responsible for People/Career Management and project staffing.


• Maintains a strong network in the marketplace to promote the Slalom brand.


• Enhances the Company's culture, and exemplifies our shared values on a day-to-day basis.



What You'll Bring



• Extensive consulting background with expertise in transformational change management, strategy, and delivery leadership.


• Prior management consulting experience is strongly preferred.


• Prior experience as an effective people leader


• Experience with sales activities and pursuits, including business development, proposals, statements of work, and revenue targets of $20M+.


• Ability to lead the design and facilitation of strategic planning sessions - helping align leaders around a shared mission, vision, and strategy.


• Collaborative working style, easily adaptable to new environments and ability to embrace ambiguity.


• Advanced communication and presentation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.


• Experience mentoring and/or teaching others to use change, organization, and/or learning methodologies.
