Position Details:



The Opportunity:


As the APAC and Faculty Senate Assistant, you are responsible for performing complex administrative duties in support of the Administrative Professional Advisory Council (APAC) and the Faculty Senate. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: providing comprehensive administrative support, independently developing, coordinating, and booking travel itineraries, compiling reports and studies, and updating the Committee and Faculty Manual; developing, modifying, and maintaining databases; coordinating and updating websites; monitoring and reporting on APAC budget(s) status; maintaining APAC and Faculty Senate records and/or filing system(s); establishing APAC office procedures, standards, priorities, deadlines, and coordinating office operations. This position initiates actions to ensure APAC and Faculty Senate office goals are met and has frequent contact with internal and external constituents. The APAC and Faculty Senate Principal Assistant is part of the Provost's Office administrative team and reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Administration & Chief of Staff.





Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.




  • Experience serving as an administrative assistant to a senior management or executive level position.






Preferred Qualifications:




  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite and WordPress.




  • Experience preparing and managing budgets.




  • Experience working in a Higher Education environment.




  • Experience with Washington State University's policies and procedures.

Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $5,400.00 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU's Administrative Professional Compensation.
