Job Description:

Primary Location:2200 W. University Drive, McKinney, Texas, 75071We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:Coordinate Emergency Medical Services program, including staffing, facility and resource management, budget evaluation, accreditation, curriculum development/maintenance, course instruction, and program regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Participate with the program director in strategic and academic cycle planning at the program, advisory committee, and course levels.

  • Participate with the program director in the fiscal planning of the program and its resources.

  • Supervise day to day management of the program, full-time and associate faculty and staff, facilities and resources to accomplish safe and effective program delivery and coordination of division activities and projects.

  • Assist with regulatory compliance associated with the program's field of practice and education, including implementation of college policy and division and program procedures, compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board standards and compliance with appropriate regulatory and educational accreditation standards including production of accreditation self-study documents and reports.

  • Foster positive human relations and teamwork among faculty, staff, and students and across all programs and college services.

  • Participate with the program director in the on-going, systematic evaluation of the program, curriculum, learning resources, and student learning outcomes including production and preservation of program/student records.

  • Assist program director with student admission and advising.

  • Manage non-credit certification courses.

  • Coordinate documentation of end-of-course and end-of-program student records in accordance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

  • Teach one credit course per semester for a total of two per year as assigned and allowed by professional regulatory agencies.

  • Attend and participate in professional development activities and participate in service to the college, including college graduation.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, plus climbing and balancing. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises. In addition, incumbents may be subjected to gases and workspace restrictions. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Occasional physical effort required.


Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited institution in Emergency Medical Technology or a related field required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
Five (5) demonstrated experience as an EMS provider in a fire department, private EMS, or hospital setting.
Minimum of three (3) years teaching EMS courses and/or clinical coordinating OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Two (2) year of supervisory experience required.


Licenses and Certifications

Certification as Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, by Texas Department of State Health Services, and eligibility for TDSHS coordinator certification.


Valid Texas Drivers License* and insurable with college's insurance carrier.



*Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin College. Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the results of the report.*
