Junior Camp Counselor
Natick Boathouse, managed by Guest Services, Inc., are nowhiring seasonal, summer junior camp counselors. This position is specifically for those ages 16 and 17. If you are 18 or older, please apply to the regular camp counselor position.
Camp runs for 9 weeks from June through August on Monday through Fridays. If you love working outdoors teaching children how to kayak, canoe, SUP and sail this is a great opportunity for you! Apply today to join our All-Star Team!
The starting rate for this position is $15/hr.
JOB SUMMARY
To provide supervision of the water to ensure safe boating operations. Teach beginning and intermediate boating skills to campers and junior staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Co-teach beginning and intermediate boating skills
Work with Counselors to hep with lead games and activities
Co-leading and co-teaching groups children
Supervising of children ages 8 - 15
Supervision of on-the-water activities
Working weekday hours. Weekend hours might also be required
Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Customer Service and Leadership skills
Intermediate knowledge of boating such as kayaking, sailing etc.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Driver's License recommended or reliable transportation to work site required
Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard or Equivalent Required
1 year teaching experience with at least one type of boating discipline such as sailing, kayaking, SUP, or canoeing preferred.
USSailing, ACA Certifications preferred
Basic proficiency in speaking Spanish, Portuguese (and/or Hindi for MA locations only) preferred
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
The work required is moderately physically demanding and requires a medium level of physical fitness. You will be required to do the following:
