Job Description:

The Customs Security Programs Specialist demonstrates compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection and the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Five Step Risk Assessment. This position can be based anywhere (remote) within the United States. This is a part-time position with a work schedule that aligns with the client(s).

Essential Functions:


  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Gather data and compose responses in the C-TPAT portal.
  3. Provide design and integration recommendations.
  4. Assist with the Management of Supplier questionnaire process.

    • Gather information on an ongoing basis as defined by the U.S. Customs & Border Protection and provide lists to vendors to identify supply chain business partners and cargo flow.
  5. Develop internal and external requirements that may be integrated in an official capacity to Plants and Suppliers.
  6. Ability to create documents that, with minimal review, may be presented to U.S Customs & Border Protection.
  7. Assist with validation preparation and response.
  8. Support ongoing training content and deployment (i.e. Supply Chain Security Policy and Procedure Review and Enhancement).
  9. Create, process, and update documents demonstrating compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection's "5 Step Risk Assessment" and Corrective Action Implementation and Compliance.
  10. All other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Associate's degree and at least three years of experience with import/export and security or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential functions, as determined by the company. Competencies:


  • Overall knowledge of Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and DHS C-TPAT portal.
  • Understanding of the Canada Partners in Protection (PIP), Mexico Nuevo Equema de Empresas Certificadas (NEEC)/Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and Europe AEO programs.
  • Experience with Conduct On-Site Pre-Assessments in various countries, mainly the US, Mexico, and Canada.
  • Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
  • Computer knowledge; Microsoft Office.

  • Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel is required. Willingness to travel to international locations and suppliers as needed.

Salary & Benefits Information:
Rate of Pay: $60 to $75 /hour.
