Role Responsibilities

Data Strategy Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-looking data strategy that aligns with business objectives, emphasizing the governance, quality, and ethical use of data.

Innovative Solutions Exploration: Identify and evaluate new technologies, data sources, and analytics methodologies that can enhance business processes, data quality, and governance practices.

Data Architecture Design: Advise on architecture for a scalable and secure data infrastructure that supports the organization's analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence needs, integrating with existing systems and cloud platforms.

Governance Framework Development: Establish and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that defines policies, standards, and procedures for data management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Quality and Compliance Oversight: Monitor data quality and compliance with governance standards, implementing controls and measures to maintain the integrity and security of data across the organization.

Team and Stakeholder Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of data professionals and collaborate with business leaders, IT departments, and external partners to ensure the successful implementation of the data strategy and governance model.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility focusing on data strategy, data governance, data architecture, or related fields, with a strong preference for experience in the beverage and alcohol or other CPG industries.
Governance and Strategy Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, data quality management, and strategic data initiatives.
Technical Proficiency: Strong background in data architecture and technologies, including cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), BI tools (e.g., MS Power BI, Tableau), data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL tools.
Leadership and Communication: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Innovation Mindset: A strong track record of leveraging new technologies and data architectures to drive business value.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of data protection laws, compliance regulations, and ethical considerations in data management within the beverage and alcohol industry.

Commercial Analytics (Nice to Have): Experience in RGM (revenue growth management) and evaluating brand investment effectiveness for a CPG company. A background in leveraging analytics to drive commercial decisions, optimize pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and portfolio management in the beverage and alcohol sector is highly desirable.

The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $160,000 to $200,000, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate's location, experience, and skillset.
