Summary

The Business Analyst leverages business data related to performance measurement to conduct technical operations in the area of data management, analysis or dissemination and may act as a project lead. The analyst is responsible for ensuring high levels of data quality and providing analytical support to Division Leadership, including consistent data definitions, integrity of underlying data models and monitoring / auditing overall data quality. Makes recommendations to increase efficiency and streamline processes. Provides analytical services and expertise in the development of effective strategies, efficient financial management and collaborative resource allocation. Provides quality information and services that enable our leaders to make informed decisions and proactively manage their business.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Conducts data analysis in support of Division objectives and financial analysis.

  • Supports other analysts in obtaining and manipulating economic, financial, or regulatory data. Performs data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing user requests.

  • Answers inquiries from senior staff, other agencies, and the general public about reporting issues, data content, and related topics.

  • Supports the strategic planning process for the System's Supervision Function. Analyzes and reports System performance metrics through the Performance Measurement Program and Office (PMPO). Provides analysis and reporting, as well as supports strategic initiatives and System projects.

  • Recommends procedures to promote the collection, acquisition, and dissemination of data.

  • Manages the timeliness and integrity of data; creates documentation; facilitates the use of data to support the requirements of Division Leadership and other analysts.

  • Follows appropriate methodologies, policies and procedures for collecting, storing, analyzing, or presenting data products.

  • Conducts training activities and creates documentation to support those activities.

  • Develops own professional skills. Identifies appropriate directions for own professional development, and initiates activities to bring about that development.

FR 25 : Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a master's degree in a related field and 1 years of related experience.

About the Team

The Business Intelligence and Reporting (BI&R) section provides data and analysis to help optimize business processes - increasing the efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness of the Supervision Function. We support the Supervision strategy and our stakeholders through focused and high-impact analysis that enables business leaders to make strategic business decisions.

About the Role

S&R is in the process of consolidating S&R data sources and transitioning to a Common Data Platform (CDP) under development by System IT. This position will assist in the product management of the S&R exam data workgroup for CDP. Responsibilities will include reviewing desired capabilities, data assets, datasets, data contracts, user personas, data sources, and downstream consumers of exam data. In addition, this position will help in the development and tracking of project success measures and metrics while ensuring connection to the reporting work of the in-development common exam platform. In this position, the incumbent should expect to:


  • Keep abreast of technology trends, banking and financial industry issues, concepts, trends and regulatory issues and considers broader implications.
  • Raise issues and proactively contribute to new policies, practices, and/or tools.
  • Provide insight regarding industry practice and emerging risk, including horizontal assessment of risk management practices.
  • Exhibit a strong knowledge of division policies, procedures and processes, and contributes to process improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to develop skills and expertise and to gain exposure internal and external to the division

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical skills in database management and data structure and prep
  • Proficiency with SQL Server, Tableau, SharePoint, and GiTLab.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of S&R exam data and processes
  • D emonstrated knowledge of financial analysis, economic principles, and data analysis
  • Familiarity with product management and/or Agile processes.

Notes:

  • This position is located in Washington DC and will require on-site presence 4 times per month and as business needs require.
