Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Screens gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytologic material; reviewing with pathologists all non-gynecologic and all atypical/abnormal gynecologic specimens. Adheres to all QA/QC standards of the department; including submitting for peer review a random 10% of all negative gynecologic cases. Maintains an effective working relationship with pathologists.
Participates in proficiency surveys and successfully completes federally mandated annual PT examination.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a science from an accredited school. Certification in Cytology, CT (ASCP or IAC). Must be CLIA eligible for High Complexity Testing
Must demonstrate annual CAP competencies in any area that they work. Proven technical skills in all aspects of cytology. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum of three years previous experience in cytology preferred.
