Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining a sterile field for surgery.
Passing instruments and assisting the surgeon during surgery.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and a positive experience.
Following safety protocols to prevent infections and injuries.
Understanding surgical procedures and surgeon preferences.
Keeping surgical instruments and equipment sterilized using proper techniques.
Participating in continuing education to stay up-to-date on the latest practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York.
Minimum two years of experience as a surgical technologist.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to stand or squat for extended periods.
