JOB DESCRIPTION



Position Summary: The Regional Quality Manager (RQM) is a proactive leader who works under the guidance of Mauser Packaging Solutions corporate policies and procedures. They adhere to all plant safety and health procedures/policies, environmental duties and customer quality standards. The RQM's strategic focus is ensuring regional compliance with these policies and procedures. Additionally, this position will collaborate with the plants to ensure continuous improvement in product quality, employee safety and regulatory compliance.



Responsibilities:


  • Ensure regional compliance to current policies and procedures
  • Provide direction and site leadership to plant SHEQs (Safety Health Environment Quality)
  • Collaborate with divisional and plant leadership in the development of divisional level quality policies and requirements
  • Oversee and ensure all quality and regulatory audit programs are in place and operational
  • Ensure all required quality and performance related product testing is completed in the plants to ensure compliance with DOT regulations regarding transport of hazardous materials
  • Partner with plant teams to develop new procedural documents and modify existing documents when required
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements, including PFMEA & Control Plan
  • Explain, implement, and monitor the requirements from the ISO 9001 and GFSI standards for approved facilities
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety certification requirements at approved plants
  • Prepare for and serve as quality management representative for external audits, customer surveys and customer site audits as required
  • Visit the customer as required for non-conformance investigation and/or Sales support
  • Support root cause analysis and problem solving activities to assist in the development of corrective action; review completed 8Ds for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain weekly Regional Quality meeting; tracking customer complaints, corrective actions and required training
  • Maintain Salesforce entries as applicable
  • Support procurement in qualification of new vendors and vendor audits
  • Support Plants/Engineering in new mold qualifications and start-ups
  • Support Commercial Team as Technical resource for Division
  • Continuously review instruction and training for all employees (including temporary staff).
  • Ensure that Management reviews are conducted as required at each site.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and/or 10 years managerial role in quality.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality and safety experience in a high volume manufacturing operation.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO Requirements, Food Safety experience a significant plus
  • Strong analytical, computational, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated use of problem solving tools...8D, 5Y, fishbone, etc.
  • Strong PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Strong team player / ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to lead regional meetings and present information to Division Leadership
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on feet up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform duties
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • The work environment can be very hot, over 90 degrees.
  • Vision: 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range
