Job Summary

Provide technical leadership across Group functional departments including pre-construction, business development, detail design, and field construction and operations. Will provide support and oversee any contracted or in-house design services, provide owner technical interface and oversee design progress relative to the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Acts as the technical interface with key vendors and suppliers while following the industry trends via conferences and publications.
2. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with Sundt's established policies and objectives.
3. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output.
4. Involvement with scope development, technical support, system performance modeling and preconstruction pricing development. Will also provide technical input in-regards to the commercial risk and exposure.
5. Manage and support the entire design process while working closely with our pre-construction, operations, scheduling and virtual design departments.
6. Manages and directs overall engineering budget and costs.
7. Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects.
8. Serve as a technical interface between owners, subcontractors and in house.
9. Support the project teams and operations by providing technical expertise and design input.
10. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.
11. Will support the business development department with sales and pursuits providing technical input and feasibility analysis.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Certifications and licenses: Desired and capable of taking and maintaining necessary licenses for states worked.
2. Deep knowledge of creating functional strategies and specific objectives for renewables and developing budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
3. Engineering Degree in desired field required.
4. Minimum of 5 years design or design oversight experience required.
5. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
9. Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis.
10. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
11. Will work various shifts, including swing, night and weekend.
