Who we’re looking for:


The Senior Director, GPO Trade Relations will provide support and management for MHA’s specialty, biosimilar, brand and generic portfolios.  He/She shall utilize their strategic contracting and client relationship/development knowledge to drive contracting opportunities, increase revenue and ongoing contract performance. The Senior Director will provide the leadership necessary to contribute significantly to top-line growth, customer satisfaction and profitable performance of Managed Health Care Associates (MHA).


The Senior Director will work with the senior management team in executing strategic and tactical activities that will enable the organization to achieve both short and long-term objectives.  In addition, by way of the candidate’s prior training and experience in leading pharmaceutical contracting initiatives, the Senior Director will play a significant role in further developing pipeline opportunities and growth strategies that will enable MHA to continue to build a nationally recognized organization of excellence.


The Senior Director will understand the importance of providing collaborative leadership within the Trade Group and the broader organization.  He/She will continue to build upon a culture that maintains a sense of urgency, quality, customer service and growth while maintaining optimal support of MHA’s mission and goals.


 What You’ll Be Doing:












·        Provide management and support within MHA’s specialty, biosimilar, brand and generic pharmaceutical portfolios. This will include developing and deepening strategic partnerships and maintenance of currently contracted relationships across the company’s current and targeted manufacturers and other strategic partners.


·        Promptly evaluate all elements of the pharmaceutical portfolio process and work with the Trade team to create efficiencies to maximize the organization’s short and long-term performance.


·        Develop and implement new pricing models to drive growth and economic value.


·        Work cross functionally with trade, clinical, contract operations, IT, legal and marketing to ensure systems and processes are aligned with evolving specialty contract requirements.


·        Oversee new business development through the initiation and expansion of business partner relationships, with an emphasis on existing partner pipeline opportunities and newly commercialized products.


·        Partner with the senior management team to identify and qualify new clients, suppliers, markets, products, and other growth opportunities.


·        Quickly gain an understanding of MHA’s culture, build on its strengths, reinforce core values, and provide change leadership when and where required.


·        Facilitate presentations to business partners and industry leaders regarding contract performance and business opportunities.


·        Partner with Business Analytics on the development and delivery of market insights that inform payer and provider customer strategies, tactics, and product forecasts.



 



What You’ll Bring to the Table:










  • Typically, bachelor’s degree

  • Typically, 8-10+ years of healthcare-related operating experience, preferably in large-scale, specialty contracting, strategic account management and/or other relevant product contracting settings.

  • Healthcare experience could include any number of segments including pharmacy, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, data aggregation, pharmacy benefit management, distribution, and group purchasing.

  • Familiarity with contract procedures and experience working on legal aspects of negotiation process.

  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain, from manufacturer, wholesaler/distributor to pharmacy.

  • Relationship building and maintenance skills, both with external and internal business partners.

  • A proven track record of success in the executive management of contracting and supply chain processes from top to bottom.

  • Current or prior experience as a trade relations executive who also has demonstrated success in strategic visioning and execution, marketing, integration, and customer service.

  • Proven history managing a business development process, which will include a net revenue line, across a complex matrixed environment.

  • Strong contract negotiating skills that have involved the utilization of well-developed analytical performance improvement and process improvement/ measurement principles.
