RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a SW Engineer in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

• SW Engineer will develop full stack applications, including both front-end and back-end components, web applications, and mobile applications


• Collaborate with other developers through GitLab


• Communicate deadlines and needs with other teammates


• Research new solutions to transportation engineering problems


• Innovate and brainstorm approaches to solutions through group sessions


• As a SW Engineer, you will implement modern solutions and deploy production builds


• Meet tight deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science


• 2+ years of programming experience through work or personal projects


• Portfolio of projects that demonstrate full stack development (web, application, or game development)


• Experienced in modern web development tools such as Typescript, React, Next.js, NodeJS, Express


• Experience with cloud services, specifically AWS, and the ability to leverage its features for scalable back-end solutions is highly desired (S3, Lambda Functions)


• Strong understanding of Computer Science topics such as optimization and algorithms


• Understanding of Python/SQL code and ability to retrieve and store data safely through a back end


• Demonstrate a deep understanding of creating and maintaining RESTful APIs, with proficiency in tools such as Postman for testing and debugging these interfaces


• Familiar with the design cycle and the concept of horizontal and vertical slices


• Ability to communicate about computer languages and their pros and cons


• Ability to weigh the pros and cons of data structures for an implementation

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
