Job Summary
The Onshore Drilling Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of drilling operations within the Murphy assets in North America Onshore, including Eagle Ford Shale - South Texas, Tupper Montney - British Columbia, and Kaybob Duvernay - Alberta. They are accountable for controlling and monitoring the operation of field activities. This role will review and discuss the daily operations with the drilling supervisors, service contractors and the drilling engineers.
The Onshore Drilling Coordinator will work a 14/14 schedule.
Responsibilities
Provides support to the Drilling Supervisors at a field level with wellsite and personnel issues; the tour is still under the responsibility of the wellsite supervisor
Participates in implementing any learnings and solutions pertaining to HSE incidents between rigs
Liase with other groups at various HSE meetings to bring up drilling concerns to other functions and provide us feedback from other functions;
Supports the HSE function with service company audits
Promote standard operating procedures across all operations, accountability is to insure constancy and repeatability
Aid with rig moves and logistics for rig moves. Scout locations well in advance to provide real drilling feedback
Advise or recommend program changes to the drilling engineer of any problems or procedures using his expertise. Identify efficiency opportunities in our operations and bring forward to the team
Ensure the field activity is carried out in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner
Assist in obtaining service quotes to ensure services utilized are cost effective and competitive.
Evaluate and recommend advanced technological developments and the performance of new field concepts obtained through study, seminar, and association with industry peers
Licenses/ Certifications
A valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 10 years' experience in onshore drilling operation, preferably in horizontal extended lateral wells drilling operations
Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced work environment while managing priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
Strategic and results orientated, decisive, self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Eagerness to take initiative and drive continuous improvement efforts where gaps are identified
50% travel required throughout US and Canada
