Job Summary / Basic Function:

The Director of Infrastructure provides leadership and expertise on various aspects of IT infrastructure, including hardware, applications, operating systems, security, networking, and support functions. This role oversees the Infrastructure Team which includes Systems Administrators, Applications Administrators, Network and Telecommunication Managers, DevOps Engineer, and Webmaster as part of an IT Shared Services environment supporting three colleges, ensuring efficient operations and technical support across the organization. The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for supervising professional and technical staff, providing technical resources, and managing the infrastructure components supporting the college's information systems. This position reports to the AVP of Information Technology Services. This is an exempt position.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct various IT operations, security, network, systems, application deployment, and support functions within the Infrastructure Team

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations, including user support, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of college computer systems and infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot complex application problems, research solutions, and implements fixes to maintain efficient system automation

  • Manage multiple projects, including planning, prioritizing, and overseeing all phases of implementation

  • Assist the IT Leadership Team by providing technical expertise and support for development goals, policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Supervise, motivate, and evaluate IT staff, providing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Analyze business needs and recommends plans/solutions to meet the college's information systems and technical support requirements.

  • Evaluate vendor proposals for technology solutions and services, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and business needs.

  • Provide recommendations for the annual IT division budget.

  • Travel and supervise at other shared service campuses





WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with sitting at a desk for long periods, occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and irregular/flexible hours as required.



Minimum Qualifications:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Science, Business Administration, or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in technology infrastructure planning, deployment, and administration, with at least five years in a lead or supervisory role.

  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software.

  • Extensive knowledge of current Windows desktop and server operating systems.

  • Extensive knowledge of network architecture, virtualization, and security.

  • Extensive knowledge of Azure and other cloud related services.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Science, Business Administration, or related field


Salary:

90,000-100,000
